Pictures from the Sea Turtle Trek: The Clean Up

The New England Aquarium's rescue team just completed an East Coast endangered species express, bringing around 50 rescued sea turtles to sunny Florida for release. We posted lots of pictures on Facebook and tracked #SeaTurtleTrek on TwitterTumblrGoogle+ and Instagram. Here are some more pictures from this historic event.

Even after more than 24 hours in the vehicles and releasing several waves of endangered sea turtles at the beach, their work was not done. And the clean-up begins!

Our friends at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center let us use their facilities for this big job.

With 52 turtles, there are a lot of crates to clean!
Here's another shot of the action.

Once they got cleaned up themselves, they even had time for a lecture at the GA Sea Turtle Center!

The sea turtles are released, their job is done. Now it's time for the SeaTurtleTrek-mobiles to return home.
